Municipal Academy of MWD Dendermonde

The TM Wycor-Dero Construct has carried out the total renovation of the Municipal Academy of Word Dance Music in Dendermonde.

The works comprise a partial rebuilding with prior demolition of a partial volume and a conversion in which a partial volume is renovated. The adjustments serve primarily to increase fire safety and accessibility and to compensate for the comments of the Education Inspectorate.

The renovation works include:

demolition of the outbuildings between the main building and the rear building (dance hall)
new access through the courtyard with new large entrance hall that will also serve as a waiting area
new stairs and two elevators
new sanitary facilities
new fireplace and extra storage space
The main building and the rear building are connected by the spacious entrance hall. The courtyard was redesigned and equipped with green elements to make it a pleasant place.

The main building itself received a new, well-insulated roof with solar panels and new windows. The classrooms were refreshed and equipped with ventilation and a new heat release system. Energy-efficient techniques were applied to reduce energy consumption.
